[Comments] The Buddha Mireukbul, also known as "Eunjin Mireuk" is built of 2 blocks of stone and located in a picturesque protected corner of the mountains at NonSan City in Chung Nam South Korea. We went to see the temple. Outside there is a small shop selling temple jewellery and artifacts. You walk through an archway with the first two bright paintings and climb many steps to the main temple. Along the sides there are many green trees and creepers with much moss as this side is very sheltered. Flowering trees such as The Rose of Sharon..a white and pink rose..and blossoms line the steps. There are tall oak trees with furry acorns out of which curd the color of chocolate is made. The air resounds with the sound of chanting played on speakers. The main temple and the smaller prayer and recluse temples and beautifully painted and decorated. There is a water fountain of clear, fresh, running water from the mountain for drinking, and on the way back we saw a grotto with water for bathing. The huge 16 metere buddha stands there with candles burning in glass covered areas at his feet. Slippers are provided for walking on the holy area in front of the buddha. Small earthern pots housing intricate waterlily collections are scattered aroubd the area. There is a small shop for drinks and buying temple jewellery. It is a very beautiful and serene setting and one feels the peace and harmony in this sanctified and holy ground. There are piles of pebbles on various points. Korean people place a pebble on the pile for good wishes. It is a wonderful custom. The trees are truly beautiful. The temple is in harmony with its surroundings and very beautiful.
